Behind the Name:

As a child, I have constantly been told stories of my great grandfather. With just an 8th grade education, he started a fuel business in 1947 that is still in operation today. People who knew my great grandfather commonly referred to him as “Shotsie.” In German, Shotsie means “sweetheart.” Considering the name, one can figure out the type of man my great grandfather was. Because of his entrepreneurial roots, my family has been blessed tremendously in the years since and Shotsie played a crucial role in making my entire family who we are today. Therefore, there is no better name to me! Shotsie’s fuel business has consumed mine and my family’s lives for years. You will see a gas pump and gas can speratically placed in the backgrounds of the boutique’s photos….No, the boutique will be not be selling anything pertaining to gas. However, the fuel business has played an instrumental role in my life leading me to open a business of my own. Therefore, to me, Shotsie Ray Boutique has everything to do with gas.

Everyone is given a nickname and to most close people in my life, I am “Ray Ray.” I wish I could tell my younger self, who hated this nickname, that it would one day add the perfect personal flare to her business name…embrace that nickname GIRL!!
